Here is an interesting issue, (at least for me)... I drew this stairway and created the stair well but when I go to a camera view, the wall comes in at the floor level. The basement is 11" thick ICF and the main level is 2x6 so in real life there is a lip on top of the ICF wall going back to the thickness of the 2x6 wall. I can't figure out why when I draw it like this the lip actually comes in at the framing level of the main floor. When I look at a cross section it actually looks like a section of the ICF wall is slid into the stairwell at that level. The floor trusses are 22". I have attached a picture of the project, I am already well underway with this, I am just trying to make some as built drawings so I can work on interior design stuff. I can probably make due with it as it is but I am just wondering if anyone wants to try and figure out what I am ,missing here. Thanks, Stairwell issue.plan

Thanks. I guess I should have just noticed the handles on the camera when I select it. Very good, I understand now how it works. I still can't figure out how to work in a backclipped or elevation view. My cross section lines layer is on but there are very few points that are snapable, mostly just on the polyline solid that I drew in that view. Anyway, we forge ahead.

I am having a hard time finding out what "backclipped" actually means. I can see what it does but it seems like where I choose to backclip from on the plan has a lot to do with how things will show up. I assume there is s distance from camera distance that would define what shows? And also what would be the optimal distance from certain objects so that they are snappable if I am looking to draw on the backclipped or elevation image? Thanks

Thanks for the responses. I have quite a bit of work done on the default cad layer but I did it when I was on 0 floor, (basement), level. I am trying to figure a way to get all that work to show up on the 1, (main floor), level. I found instructions on how to copy from one layer to another but is there a way to copy from on level to another? Thanks again.

I drew some cad lines while I was looking at the basement floor level, working plan view. These are lines associated with the terrain and I would like to see them when I switch to the first floor. I click the up arrow to go up one floor and now I see the first floor plan but my cad lines are gone. They are on the cad default layer which is still checked as visible but they are only visible to me when I am on the basement floor. Same with terrain, if I draw the terrain while I am on the basement floor plan I can't see the terrain lines when I switch to first floor even though the terrain layer is still checked as visible. ??

I am trying to figure out how to move and position my plot lines independent of the house plan. I have a couple layers that I would like to move all at once, rotating and whatever. I have a JPEG layer with an areal view and then a cad layer with the topo lines that I have traced, Ultimately I will make those topo lines into a terrain to so I will have those additional layers that I would like to move all at the same time. I want to keep the house square in front of me but I need to move the land around to get the house positioned better. Is there a way to select by layer and select everything on a few layers so I can move them around? I can make them all into a block but the I can't make the block go behind the footprint of the house so I can't see the house as I am positioning the land.
