  1. Hello, Do you happen to have X10 installed on the machine you're sending the plans to? There is a likely chance that the *.plan and *.layout file extensions are associated with that older X10 version instead of X12. You might try following the steps in this article to resolve the problem:

  3. Hi Ronniesha, This behavior presents itself when Chief Architect doesn't have proper permission to record/capture the screen. This can be resolved by following the steps below: Close Chief Architect. Click on the Apple icon in the top left corner and select System Preferences. Select the Security & Privacy category On the next screen, click on the Privacy tab at the top. On the left side, scroll down and click on the Screen Recording option. Place a check in the box next to the Chief Architect program. NOTE: If this section is grayed out, you may have to select the padlock icon in the bottom left corner and enter your Apple account credentials to make modifications. I hope this helps.

  12. Is this in relation to the Room Planner mobile application or the Home Designer Professional desktop software we offer? Room Planner is intended for designing the interior of a room or area. It's not meant for exterior/landscape design. If you are using Home Designer Professional, then landscape tools are available, along with several options to create in-ground and above ground pools.

Hi Susan, The shapes you have mentioned, which are made of up mostly different sized boxes, can now be found by going to 'Room Planner Core Library> Furniture> Interior Accessories.'
  15. You are correct Susan. Walls and openings (Doors and windows) are the only items that are imported into Chief Architect from a Room Planner file.
