This does not relate to your question but these new features shown in this video I think would be very useful to the type of work you do

I'm with Perry here. I have a .plan and .layout file, all under a project folder on One Drive, files dragged and dropped to a Google Drive and Dropbox for a backup at certain stages of the project. Easy peasy..
So is this PM addition, an option where we don't have to use it?
I hadn't seen much of X17 besides the vids and comments, not a beta user here. And I understand some peeps might like the PM stuff, but I'm looking for more bread and butter in these upgrades not just a different bread box to store it. That's what I am excited to see.. Did we fix stair issues, pony and railing walls issues, dimensioning options, basically most of the suggested items this past year. Honestly, I don't recall anyone suggesting a project management system, or I just missed it.
My $0.05 because two pennies are more than a dime.
You can turn it off in preferences also it ask when you install if you want to use it

,, don't mean to sound like a %&%&% but define TNR and Z direction????
Transform replicate tool most items have that tool in there tool bar and z is up and down in 3d space check it out it can be a precise way to move things

Ask for dwg format, 3d only allows for a symbol and you cannot edit it.

Share or upload your plan then people can give you the best solution

Well technically, George didn't ask about code. He only asked why his landings didn't pick up the stair settings. Mark gave him the right answer.
Apparently, Chief doesn't like having landings stacked on top of each other. It only likes landings butted up to each other. See the picture below showing stacked landings vs. butted landings. It would be nice if stacked landings worked automatically but you probably need to send Chief a feature request if you want that to change.
Yours are attacked as shown in this post

Hi Mark,
Thank you for your help. I have a few questions regarding the stair:
- If the landings are aligned, will the stairs function as a single unit, with the winder overhang automatically adjusting to the stair configuration?
- How can I ensure the top of the stairs aligns with the top of the wall and integrates seamlessly into the room,
Below, winders built in Australia.
1. yes see my file i just adjusted the landings and then all worked
2. They should unless you have changed the stairs automatic setting but i think more information is needed as to your exact problem like screen shot or the file also with this question i am not a expert with stairs someone else may have a better reply

The rooms on the right hand side of your plan have a lowered floor height -56 1/4" witch lowers your top plate height and roof plane pitching height as for the gaps they can be fixed by drawing attic walsl latter
If you want i could do a screen share and help you if that interest you send me a private message

Try adjusting gable sub facia maybe

If I'm following this correctly, you want to have 2 roof sections perfectly align by having:
- same plate height
- same fascia height
- same overhang distance
- but different pitches? (your posted plan has 12/12 pitch at existing and 4/12 pitch at new connection)
If that is correct, that isn't possible. All of those would have to be equal for them to be equal.
You can however make adjustments to get the fascia heights to match. Such as:
- different overhang distances than each other (extend the 4/12 overhang to get it to the desired height, but will result in a larger overhang...can increase pitch to minimize the overhang distance)
- different plate heights (lower new room height in this case due to the lower pitch...you could raise that pitch to minimize how much to lower plate height)
- or just accept that the fascia heights will not align if you have to have the plate heights the same and the overhangs the same
- etc.
I agree unless there is missing information

Upload your plan it will get you a quicker solution and it will be better for people helping you.
If it is to big compress, it or share with dropbox or others
-
Upload your file if you can't get it to work
-
Try opening railing wall, wall type on exterior layer and interior layer turn off framing see if that helps, things seem ok on my end but it has some strange rebates in the slab
-
Upload your chief file

Would wall material region tool help with this
-
Could you share your plan it would be easer to ell you what is wrong
-
Also the footing just turn it off under wall dialog foundation tab.
-
Forget dynamically just build terrain then turn of auto build terrain edit the retaining wall jobs is done, editing the retaining wall is a bit strange but it works, it seems like it is crossing over it’s self but ignore it as it does not seem to matter
