mountaineer
I'm having trouble with my second floor exterior walls when I do a story and 1/2 plan using a loft with railing. When I raise the ceiling height and apply the railing it leaves holes on both sides. Can anyone suggest a video that explains this? I've attached the plan I'm working on. Thanks in advance for any input. I'm using x7 on a mac.

COLONIAL-CHIEF
Design your second floor first then design your roof after, you can lower the baseline heights as needed to get your second floor under the roof area.

rlackore
If this is the problem you're referring to: ...just think about it for a moment. Clearly you can't have the loft railing extending beyond the roof line, right? You'll need to stop the railing wall short of the roof plane. There are a lot of other issues that should be cleaned up, such as aligning the second floor walls with those below, closing the second floor by making the north wall a Room Definition wall, etc.
