swang54
Hi, I am trying to create a stairwell from a basement to the first floor, the auto stairs tool complains: "Could not connect new stairwell railings to some of the existing walls or railings, so could not make the "open below" stairwell room. If you connect these railings to the appropriate walls you can then make the new room yourself." but then when i go to the upper floor, i do see the staircase, only that there is no opening. I also tried to : create a room of type 'open bellow', didn't work either. what's the right way to do this? i'd imagine that if I want to create a staircase, i should be able to just draw the square where i need it to be and the software should be able to do the connection, obviously that's too much... Thanks,

Joe_Carrick
IAE, at the basement level click on the stairs and then click the button on the Edit Toolbar "Auto Stairwell".

Alaskan_Son
Swang, Not sure of the "why", but all you have to do is simply draw the 4th wall and specify the room as "Open Below".
