CharlesVolz
Once in a while I am hired to work in a small township that requires a licensed architect's stamp on the plans. I have a builder set of plans that I have been asked to do that would need an architect's help.
DRAWZILLA
Will an Engineer stamp work, I do that on every project, plus you might need an Engineer anyway.
Richard_Morrison
It's worth pointing out that "plan stamping" (even if the architect reviews the plans) can lead to an architect losing his/her license. If you are getting paid by the builder, and then paying a fee to the architect for the stamp, then that architect is violating the Texas Architectural Practice Act. I'm not saying you won't find someone to do it, just that a licensed architect who would stamp someone else's plans doesn't have a lot of common sense. DRAWZILLA
That's why an engineer works, he will do the calculations for lateral and check the beam sizes for you .You are then free to design away. That's the way I have done it for 40 plus years. no problems
