Context
There are no layers or layer sets for demolition in the Interior Design version of Chief. I am thinking of using a new layer called demo walls which would be part of the demo layer set demolition. But I understand you can't have layers over each other like you can in Vectorworks. Any suggestions? I use a Mac, version 7, thanks,
Gawdzira
Take your as built drawing and show only the walls and windows (no doors). Cad detail from view. Select all those cad lines and put them on the demolition layer and make them dashed lines. Copy and paste into your plan view and lock the layer after sending all those cad lines to the back. Now if you move any walls or delete sections of walls that are demolished the dashed lines show through. Done.
Context
Got it. Could I just make them with the polyline tool, too? I don't have that many demo walls, anyway...
Context
I don't think CAD detail from view is in my version.
Kbird1
If you have only a few walls to do you can use the wall hatching tool for that, on the Build Walls menu. M.
Gawdzira
Yes, same methodology without the cad to view by just making a few polyline boxes will do the trick. The main thing to keep in mind is you can not have two walls in the same place.
