Notice if the ply sheathing between exterior finish and wall studs is THICKER than EXTERIOR FINISH, the sheathing pops through. Note that on CA's default exterior siding wall, the ply/osb is 7/16" and the wood siding is 1/2" thick. The ply is thinner than exterior finish.
