roof support?

Hey guys,

 

I'm trying to replicate this roofline, but I can't seem to get it to work properly. The roof has a side support from the end walls that extends out to meet the edge of the roof, as you can see in the photo. Can someone kindly walk me through this?

 

Sorry, forgot to add that i'm using CA x18.

You might be able to get the wall the way you want by editing the shape in an elevation view.  I had ok results but it was a bit of a pain.  You could always just create the piece of wall using a polyline solid and that might be easier.

You can use the wall's edit handles as DBCooper says.

You can't break the vertical end of the wall so you need to break the bottom of the wall and drag the corners around to get the shape you want.

Not perfect, but may do the job.

Thank you so much, guys! I'll give it a try later tonight. I never thought about it that way, I thought it had to be modified in the roof structure.

Hi guys,

Just another quick question. I built a supporting wall under the I-beam and enclosed it with another wall to create a room. For some reason, I can't manually stop the wall at the edge of the I-beam, it always wants to auto-connect to the supporting wall. Does anyone know how to set it so it stops at the edge of the I-beam or the wall's edge?
