Roof / 3D Face Question

Greetings,

I'm trying to model an existing roof that has some funky roof plane infills where a bunch of dissimilar roofs come together.  You can see it below, sort of sloped triangular roof planes:

Here's where I'm at.  So far so good...

So, I want to fill in at spots (1) and (2) below.  I thought I'd use the 3D face tool for the first time and call it a day (seemed easier than trying to do it with roof planes).

But, I'm having trouble snapping to the right 3D points in 3D view with the 3D Face tool.

Any tips?  Is the 3D Face tool the right hammer for this nail?

Thanks again,

Jim

Thanks Mark for the input.  In the end I wound up making a 3D face as roof infill.  Can't say the endpoint snapping was easy though.

Looks like the roof you circled in hello is at a 45 degree angle. Because of the complex angles created by the shed having been added I would draw the roof without the shed roof first and then add the shed roof on top and then adjust from there, if that makes sense.
