mikes616
Is there an easy way to create a mezzanine or loft floor? Thanks. Mark
joey_martin
Use a railing or half wall, one side is specified as open to below, the other side is specified as a hall, or whatever you need for it to be.
mikes616
I probably should have provided more info. Here is the situation: this is a large, one story, commercial building...about 65,000 sq. ft. There is a small mezzanine in one corner...about 1200 sq ft. The main space has about a 20' ceiling and many columns, steel bar joists, etc. It seems like you're creating another normal floor with "open below" for the non-mezzanine area. Is there another way or is this it? Thanks. Mark
Joe_Carrick
That would be the best way to do it. You could copy all the columns, etc to the second floor by Copy/Paste Hold Position or just adjust the ceiling height in the warehouse area so that the second floor in that area becomes a zero ceiling ht. joey_martin
You can place invisible walls in that corner and specify no ceiling in the large space, but leave the ceiling in the area bordered by the invisible walls. It will create "attic walls" up there, but simply change them to railings.
