creatrix
I'm not a newbie but I'll probably sound like one! I am having a helluva time with cabinets. Notice the odd behavior in the kickplate. I don't believe they are bumping and have no idea if I've done something to make them not. How do I get rid of the 3 lines in the kickplate on either side of the door? Any help much appreciated! I've watched videos, searched the knowledge base, and YouTube to no avail. DBCooper
My first guess is that you have turned on the layer called "cabinets, module lines". This will show you extra lines in elevation views that show you face frame and other cabinet pieces. I think it shows the toe kick going through the front when it thinks the side is finished. Normally I only see this on the end cabinets though. My next guess is that you have made the middle cabinet (or maybe some others) into a architectural block. Once you make a cabinet into an architectural block, it will lose the connections with other cabinets next to it which is why you can get that situation. The only other thing I can think of is that your cabinets are actually overlapping each other slightly. This also breaks the cabinet connections and can lead to other problems. If bumping and snaps are turned off you could get into a situation like this. Those are the only ways I was able to get results like you are showing. If it's not these things, then you should probably post the plan and then someone can take a look into it more. This picture shows how 3 normal cabinets would look if module lines are turned on. The end cabinet shows the toe kick but the middle ones don't. One way to "fix" this would be to put your own finish piece in front of them using something like a 1/4" thick poly solid. Might also be able to get what you want adding a molding (1/4"x4") to the cabinet but this will only work if you don't have a finished end. Wish there was a way to tell a cabinet what sides have a molding on them but you can always start with a cabinet molding and then convert it into a manual one so you can turn it off on the exposed ends. creatrix
Thanks for ALL of your suggestions and time. I haven’t turned the middle cabinet into an architectural block so will look at your other two suggestions. I’ve played with resizing too. That eliminated some issues. I’ll let you know how it goes. creatrix
I've checked everything you mentioned: layer for "cabinets, module lines" is not on, middle cabinet not an arch. block and bumping and snaps is on. My luck! I'll send in a zip and ask for support. Thanks for your help.
robdyck
Are all the cabinets using the exact same material? Those lines will show up if they are using different materials, even if there are multiple versions of the same material in use.
