How Do I Show Sinks and Toilets in a Framing Plan View in Chief X16?

I’m using Chief Architect X16, and I’m trying to show sinks and toilets in my Framing Plan View so that I can coordinate plumbing locations with my framing.

I’ve tried turning on all relevant layers, including Fixtures, Interior, and I’ve made sure I’m on the correct floor. When I click on the sink in my plan view, it shows as a CAD Block Instance, not a “Fixture”—and it’s not showing up in the Framing Plan at all.

What’s the proper way to make plumbing fixtures visible in a Framing Plan View? Is there a step I’m overlooking to restore the sink from a CAD block back to a true 3D fixture?

Any insight would be so appreciated—thank you kindly in advance!

If you mean a floor framing view, I do that with a reference display, since the main floor framing is actually on level 0. I don't typically concern myself with sinks since they don't penetrate the floor structure in any certain spot, and are not usually impacted by floor joist locations - just toilets, tubs and showers.

Toilets tubs and shower drains go on their own layer, "fixtures - visible below" and then displayed via reference floor display on level 0 - with a special line style and color.

If you mean something else, please clarify.

Thanks Chris - I'm in the Framing, Floor Plan View - not certain if that is the same as 'Floor Framing View'.  This build is on a concrete slab and will have plumbing for sinks coming up through the floor.  Really only want to see anything that needs plumbing.  I tried your reference floor display but I am unable to turn off cabinets without losing the sink.  Is there a better way?

Before putting the sink in a cabinet / countertop place without cabinet and put on a new layer. In the view you're in go to the layer set and make sure it's turned on. Check the fixture for height above the floor and make sure it is above the finish floor for the floor you want - slab for basement, 1 for framing overlay etc. - Should show up for you.

Reference floor display is not going to be an option because it covers up my dimensions in the Framing, Floor Plan View.

For slab foundations I have a saved plan view set up specifically for the slab plumbing layout, separate from the foundation plan. It uses a reference display of the floor above with its own layer set and dimensions. The only dimensions I use for this saved plan view are the plumbing dimensions that I create on the floor above (floor 1).

I started out turning cabinets off and using 2D cad blocks for sinks, but quickly realized I'd rather just have the base cabinets on than risk forgetting to update the 2D block locations if something gets moved. Sounds like Rich's solution above might be the better way to deal with sinks without having to show the base cabs.
