Freedom_Building
Hello! I am trying to create a barn structure that has a monitor style roof, like the plans I have attached. I am able to create the main structure, but I am running into issues trying to add the porch roof off of the side of the building since it is at a different height than the main roof structure. Any help, or direction, is appreciated. Barn Plans (FAWN DESIGN) - FINAL 08-28-2024.pdf
Doug_N
You do want the roof planes to intersect right?
madcowscarnival
OP are you still around, I can't tell the difference between automated bot comments or legit user questions? It should be as simple as defining your room heights on the plan (i.e. 12' main structure, 8' lean-to). Define your end walls as gable, then just auto build the roof. With a monitor roof, I believe the roof planes are typically the same pitch, so no need to define different roof pitches in the wall dialog box. Doug_N
From the attached PDF the slope on the open area is less than the slope of the main building.
DBCooper
This should be as simple as setting the proper room height for the porch area and setting the pitch you want for the long outside porch walls. If you are still having problems, then you might want to post pictures or plans of what you have. Also, this tech article covers some of the basics: https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-01179/creating-an-attached-porch-or-carport.html
