Ceiling Plane Trouble

I've spent about 3 hours trying to figure out why ceiling planes (to make a cathedral ceiling in this living room) won't display.  I had some beams (soffits) in there and I've left one.  But I can't get the "beams" placed under the ceiling plane (which won't display).  It seems there is something at 11'-11" that prevents them from going to the ceiling - but I can't see that either.  I've never had trouble with ceiling planes before but this has got me stumped.

I've attached the plan file.  Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Damon,

I got the two ceiling planes to appear by going into the Room dialog and toggling the "Roof Over this Room" setting on/off.  Is that what you're after?

@JKEdmo thanks for taking a look at this.  I toggled "Roof Over This Room" off and still don't see the ceiling planes.  I've checked to make sure they are supposed to be displayed and they should be....hummm.  I wonder why I'm not seeing them?  Can you get the "beam" to go flush with the ceiling plane?

Damon,

Here's a video of what I did, attached.  Just a simple toggle.

I could not get the beam to follow the sloped ceiling, but I don't have too much experience with soffits.  But, it appears it should be doable according to help:

BTW, I'm on X16.  Your signature says your on X15.  I wonder if that's the difference?

Your soffit is oriented the wrong way.  They will only slope front to back, not side to side.  You need to pay attention to where the front arrow is pointing.

@JKEdmo I toggled the "roof over this room" a couple of times and the ceiling planes appeared.  I'm not sure how that works.  @DBCooper thanks for the input.  That fixed the soffit (beam) issue.  I'm back in business on this project thanks to you two!
