Ed_Orum
I am using V16, but before I switch to V17, does anyone have experience with auto story pole dimensions in V17? Specifically, I am wondering if it is any better at locating items life sub-floor, ceiling height, 2nd floor height, 2nd floor wall plate height, etc. In V16, the auto locate seems to locate almost everything except what I have checked in the Locate Elevations dialog in the Auto Story Pole Dimension Defaults. It gets the 1st floor sub floor most of the time, but everything else is always off by a couple of inches. It even locates things that apparently are not there. If this tool worked it would be a great time saver, but for me it does not work. So before I try V17, I would appreciate any input. By the way, I was checking out the new features of V17, and it appears Chief, after how many years, has finally stepped into the 21st century and now recognizes the top of the concrete foundation wall as the top of the foundation wall, and not the top of the sill plate. What a concept, go Chief! Maybe in another 25 years the auto story pole dimensions will work. Thanks in advance for any input. Lane

I haven't downloaded X17 yet but there seems to be something amiss in your settings. I use the tool all the time and have none of these issues. I'm afraid to say it won't work any better in X17 if you aren't able to maniuplate these settings in X16. I also use it all the time, quite customized, with only occasional issues.
