PitMan71
I have a straight stair that I want the lower portion to have open rail. BUT I want it to transition to between walls as it goes through the floor. Is there a way to break a continuous stair to have open rail to a certain point and then transition to between walls? Thanks in advance. Chelsea.plan.zip
DBCooper
You need to put in a "complete break" instead of a normal break. What you have now is one stair section with 2 sub-sections and you need two different stair sections. Once you have two stair sections you can make them different widths. Here is some more info: https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/topic/25690-stairs-complete-break-tool/
Solution SNestor Posted Tuesday at 04:57 PM Solution Share Posted Tuesday at 04:57 PM Take a look at the attached plan.... I added a second floor. Used the complete break tool on the stair. Made the wall under the stair a "partition wall" so that the upper wall end is covered with drywall.
