Vaulted ceiling issues/custom roof per architect plans

I have plans from the architect on my design project that has varying ceiling heights and vaulted ceilings and we are having issues with the ceiling showing up properly and I'm just not sure if we are going about things the correct way. We first went through and built all custom roof planes per the architects specs and then are going back inside to edit the ceilings which the vaulted areas have a different pitch than the ceiling but it's messing up heights of the rooms and making walls disappear and it just feels like a complete mess and we don't know where to start fixing things. Any help would be appreciated.

Hey Krissy,

Its def a mess, but the layout is cool.  Does the architect really want these roof planes like this?  Drainage issues everywhere.

The first thing that pops out to me are your roof planes.  First get the ridges in line with each other, esp. at the corners and straighten them out.  Second, you have planes on top of planes...see attached vid.  get each section as its own entity, and connect with the "Join Roof Planes" tool.

Try aligning main walls from below with the walls on second floor. Turn "WALL LAYERS" on to, so you can see your walls easier.

This will be a start.. take care of these and repost if you still need help.

Oh boy...lots of issues with this plan.

I took some liberties and attempted to put a roof on this plan...had to move some walls around. The roof design will make a number of attorneys very wealthy.

The plan grew so I've placed in on a google drive for download;

Thank you, this is helpful. Roofs are definitely not my strong point and always intimidating to me. I agree the roof plan is a little crazy but it is in fact what was drawn on the architects roof plan and they have section views of each elevation of the home confirming ridge and base heights as well as pitch. I’ve gone back and found one issue with the plan as attached and have fixed that and will go through and follow your advice on how to clean this up and join roof planes.
I’ve been able to fix a good amount of vaulted ceiling issues so far but still having trouble in the area above the dining area where the vault I believe continues all the way to the entry. On the interior it is just not showing up correctly.

appreciate your guidance!

Thank you! I reviewed what you did and that helped me edit my plan. Now I’m no architect or architectural designer, I’m an interior designer and I was definitely questioning this roof plan. It really doesn’t seem practical for drainage? Is that your concern too?
