DefinedDesign
I’m working on creating a nice daylight scene with the kitchen lights on using PBR, but I’m finding it surprisingly tricky to get the look just right. I’ve adjusted several settings but must be missing something simple! No matter what I try, I can't seem to get rid of the tinted look on the windows. I double-checked, and they aren’t actually tinted. Feeling a bit perplexed—any thoughts on what I might need to change? Thanks so much in advance for any tips! ericepv
At first glance, I'd say you need to dial back your lighting significantly. I usually keep the sunlight much, much lower than 150,000 and the same goes for your background. In this rendering, I have my sun light set at 250, background intensity is at 10 & exposure is .08. You don't state what you have the interior lighting set at but I'm guessing that it's pretty high as well. If you pos your plan, I'll take a look at it. I don't have a way of sending the file even zipping the file up is too large, the forum won't let me upload it.
ericepv
I'm guessing that the differences i our systems (PC vs Mac & probably different video cards as well) has a lot to do with our different results. Try turning off all of your light sources and then add the lighting back in one at a time. Start with the sunlight then add in your cans & pendants but not too bright. I'd use the cans & pendants a accent lighting, for general room lighting I like to use added light sources. Specify them as point lights & keep them well below the ceiling to prevent bright spots and turn off shadows. Also, what kind of background are you using, is it from the Chief library? You'll need to experiment to see what provides the best balance but that's what works for me.
