sclark Posted September 5 Share Posted September 5 I am an engineer that works on a variety of projects. Some of these involve creating structural packages for houses. Where I have access to a floor plan and then I size members and developing structural details, such as foundations, connections, etc. as needed. I also do some retaining wall designs and septic system designs, both of which are currently cobbled together in Autocad, typically by others, with my input. Plat surveys and contours are imported from surveyors with some point elevations from my GPS unit to help out. I could like the ability to generate contours, if that's an option. I am interested in finding a program that can work in all of these areas. Does CA have these abilities? Any input or thoughts would be appreciated. I am signed up for an online intro tomorrow so I imagine some of this topics will be covered there. I am also exploring SketchUp and AutoCad...I am sure there are others out there too.
