Combine framing for two walls

A newby question: I have a wall that was split in two to facilitate a difference in exterior layers but the two segments should be framed as a single wall. Is there a way to keep the layers as they are but have the two walls framed as one?

Not sure there is an automatic way to do that but you can cut members from one wall detail and paste them into the other and then you would typically only need to edit the connection point.  Unless there is a simple way to add that extra layer with a material region or other wise and keep it as one automatic wall.

I don't know a way to do it automatically, but you could cheat by temporarily merging the walls, build the framing, then split them and change the wall type.  It looks like Chief will keep the original framing as long as you don't rebuild it.

Trying to figure out a way to make the single framing run permanent so that the results can be sent to the EZFrame saws for pre-cut plates. Think I'll try the material region approach. Thanks.
