There is limited functionality that will allow some things, depending on your situation and needs.

If you want to do this as a standard everyday tool, then DB is correct.

If you just want to locate an item that you have lost in plan view and want to find it from a 3D view you can make a material list of the object and then in the ML you can use Find Object in Plan.

The object will be selected in the plan view.
