Adam_Gibson
Does anyone know how to open very old Chief files?
Adam_Gibson
I should qualify that. They can be opened with X8, but how does one acquire a copy of X8?
Adam_Gibson
Figured it out! Posting in case this happens to others. In the Digital Locker, you can select the checkbox to show upgrades. If you've been a user forever like me, the old version pop up and show the activation codes. Yay!

Adam_Gibson
Thanks Ben. The only issue is that the article doesn't say how to actually download the old version.
BenPalmer
I think they do that because some people may not have the option to download the old version in their locker or may not want to download the full version, so they provide the 'viewer' option that all people can access.

They don't make it obvious in the KB Article, but if you click on the Green Text it is a link to the X8 Viewer Download.... it can open old plans and then re-save them as an X8 Version plan.
