Jambruins
I want my trusses to have a bottom chord overhang and I believe the only way to accomplish this is to select raise off the plate option in the roof build dialog box. However, when I do this it is moving my top plate higher up. I want a 4' knee wall but when I select raise off top plate it is moving my top plate up to 5'. Any idea why? robdyck
The Raise Off Plate dimension should = desired vertical height at baseline - Vertical Structure Depth. Chief should then auto-build framing for the attic walls and leave the wall top plates at the default height. You should also have "Trusses" checked in the Build Roof dialog. Kiwideziner
Found this same problem on Friday. However it was only on half of the walls. My fix was to select don't go through ceiling in the wall framing dialog box, or something like that not got CA open at the moment. It seems like the framing has changed in X14, however as I didn't usually frame the buildings due to a slow computer until last week this maybe didn't matter.
