kwhitt
I've got a large great room opened to the 2nd floor. There's a soffit (probably structural member) that aligns with the floor platform on the 2nd floor. Is the soffit tool the best to use in this case? If so, how do you change the bottom to be white to match the ceiling in adjacent room while the face of it remains the wall color? If this is the wrong tool for this application, I would appreciate a suggestion. Thanks, Kevin
kwhitt
Thanks Eric. Do soffits generate framing?

Chrisb222
If you want to generate framing, use an invisible wall at the edge of the "soffit" to create a small room between it and the exterior wall. Make sure Walls, Invisible is checked to show in 3D views. You may have to fiddle with floor coverings, moldings etc for that little room.
