Skip_D
Hi All, Is there a way to designate a wall NOT to report its framing to the material list? My objective is to create a material list that does not include existing elements in a remodel/addition project. thanks, George X10

Skip_D
it's late here on the East Coast and i'm a bit tired so may be missing something obvious. but I cant' figure out where I 'define' the material in question.

Skip_D
Eric thanks for the video, but, for some reason my 'Define Material DBX looks different. I'm in X10 and this is what I see: There is no 'materials list' option. Any ideas???
Chopsaw
Eric, I thought you were on to something good there but it appears that a Framing "Material Structure Type" cannot be defined as None in the "Materials List Calculation". Using "Other" prevents the wall from framing all together and even if you frame and then paint it does not change the properties. Possibly there is another way but I can't seem to make this one work. glennw
Place your existing walls on their own layer and uncheck the Mat column for that layer. They will then not calculate in the ML.
Chopsaw
There we go. Thanks Glenn. I knew there must be a way.
glennw
This method assumes that you don't want ANY part of the wall construction to show in the ML (not just the framing) - like drywall, brick veneer, USB, insulation, etc, which makes sense if you don't want any of the existing included.
