CAmichael240114
Another question re line styles which include text with the line It seems that the standard OOB font/text size for all is set to 1.0mm (in my case metric) How do you determine the font/text size to suit the different printed scales If you adjust the text size from 1.0mm to 2.0mm the text in most cases is too large
DBCooper
Try setting your "number style" to decimal mm and then you can set the height to 1.5.

Thanks DBC, I have experimented with the height in decimal mm, that alters the text height as required. But how do you relate the "line style text height" to the desired text height for different required scaled plans.
DBCooper
I believe the line style sizes are always specified in actual print sizes. If you are going to be printing at different scales and want different text sizes, you will probably have to create different line styles. You might want to setup different line styles for the various scales you are using and then change them using your layers.
CGreen
Can someone clarify for me? These customizable dimensions will related the actual print size? and it doesn't matter scale on the layout?
DBCooper Posted yesterday at 01:10 AM Share Posted yesterday at 01:10 AM Try this: Draw a couple of lines using different sizes Turn on print preview Change the drawing scale and see what happens.

While I agree that testing it out for oneself is the best approach, it should be noted that this one is a little more complicated than simply changing drawing scale and seeing what happens: IF you're talking about a view sent to Layout and your Drawing Sheet in Layout is set to a 1:1 scale and your Layout Box is set to Use Layout Line Scaling, and you are Printing To Scale, then yes, the Text Height in your Line Style settings will match the actual print size. Change any one of those variables though and things change.... If you're printing from Plan, then it will depend on your Drawing Sheet Scale. The text will be sized so that it is printed at the correct height only when you're printing at the specified scale. If you print at Fit To Paper - XX% then your Text will either be bigger or smaller depending on your current zoom setting and the percentage value you enter. Unchecking Use Layout Line Scaling in Layout will have a similar effect where the text is only the specified height IF your Drawing Sheet is set to 1:1 in layout and the Layout Box scale is set to match your Plan View's Drawing Sheet Scale, and you Print To Scale. Otherwise the text while change size accordingly.
