Welcome

1) Please use a screen capture tool (Windows has the Snipping tool) instead of a camera to make an image.

2) Also good to know what software you are using. It helps others to have this info in your signature so it's always available. See this topic for a signature how to.

Consider spending some time studying how Chief works. There are plenty of videos and articles available to get you started.

Chief has a YouTube channel -- look for the Roof Webinars for Home Designer to start.

Search the Chief website for info too.

Roofs take practice, so practice :)

And that roof will easily auto build, so I'd start there.

I agree with Eric, there is a learning curve where everything seems like it should work, but it just doesn't, then you learn a few techniques and you wonder whatever was the problem.  If you post your file, I will take a look at it and see if I can sort it out for you and let you know what I did to make the changes.

Not to take away from what these fellas have said, they're right, but that's a really easy roof using auto roofs.

Make sure you have Auto Rebuild Roofs checked.

Draw four exterior walls.

Draw three railings.

Select the two end exterior walls and two end railing walls and hit Change to Gable button, or open their DBX, go to Roofs and change to Full Gable Wall.
