Post showing against wall by default

Does anyone know how to stop this post showing by by default? I can cut the balustrade and unselect 'full height post' for that area, but it throws out the spacings.

Also, whenever I have a set of stairs against the balustrade, it automatically spaces the posts. How to I stop it from doing this? Its helpful at times, but sometimes I don't want the stairs to affect the posts.

Open the stair dialog and turn off "Automatic Stair Openings".  When automatic stair openings is on, the program will create an opening in the railing where the stair connects to it.  All openings in railings will normally have a post on each side.  If you turn off the automatic openings, you will have to create your own openings manually.  Also, just as an FYI, for more control over your post spacing you can always put wall breaks in the railings.  Wherever there is a break, the program will place a post.

Has anyone had this? When you change your balustrade on the stairs from timber to wire or posts it goes the wrong way? How do you fix this?

Taking the advice I learned on this site...I created a deck railing wall definition which adds a layer to the inside of the deck rail using "opening no material".  This "trick" does offset the deck rail...moving the entire rail, posts and rail together toward the inside of the deck so that the newels don't right on the edge of the deck.  It just looks more realistic.

However...this also increases the overall wall width...and "sometimes" I end up with a wall line on the inside.  I don't want this wall line to appear....and on some plans it doesn't.  Is there a way to turn off the wall lines?  I thought it might be a layer setting...but, after some trial and error...I don't think it is.

Any help and/or better ideas would be appreciated.

Here is a plan view of the deck...

I am just trying to find a way to make my fencing posts to align with the top of my roof plane (image attached).

I haven't created them individually I have created them using a "straight railing" wall and then converting the "Rail Style" to "No Rail". I've also tried changing the "Newel/Posts" section to "Post to Ceiling" although I need it to the roof.

Sorry the software I am using is Chief Architect Premier X6 for Mac.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
