ARBDESIGN
How do I extend to cross hatching lines in a room (to represent floor tiling) so the lines near the door all finish in a straight line and join into an under door metal strip that runs from one jamb stile to the other jamb stile. I am finding when I hatch the room the lines near the door stop short and are not in a straight line. Look forward to hearing your replies. ARBDESIGN
Here is a basic drawing with hatching. Notice hatching doesn't continue out to edge of door. How can this be modified to look right on plan view?
Barton_Brown
Recognize that the hatching is part of the 'room specification' - thus it stops at the wall/doorway because these define the edges of the room. This behavior is what I would expect to happen. Maybe a more experienced CA user has an automatic fix, I do not. If you really want the doorways filled in plan view, you can always draw CAD lines to extend the hatching.
glennw
You can't fix this automatically. I usually resort to a hatched poly line for the whole room instead of using the auto room hatch.
ARBDESIGN
Hatched polyline worked really well. Thanks Glenn. Great to hear from another user in Australia?
