SchnieppDesign
I am interested to know how you would deal with this issue. In the attachment the upper wall, which is stone in the center and stucco on the sides, is a single wall. The roofline gives the dormer look, but there is no dormer. How would you go about getting the different wall materials to show accurately. I tried breaking it into 3 pieces. I tried pony walls. Nothing seemed to work, so I just put a polyline solid in the center with a stone material. Is there a better way? Thanks, John
DavidJPotter
Poly-line solid overlays would be my initial plan, depending upon the size and shape of the Architectural details, one might also use molding poly-lines or 3D molding poly-lines as well. Using only walls or pony-walls becomes problematic when intricacy is required but Chief has plenty of tool choices to do whatever needs doing. ebdesign
A pony wall should work. Maybe your roof line at the wall is causing a problem. Post the plan to get a definitive answer.
Kenoeightspot
Try using a "Wall Material Region". It will show in the material list.
SchnieppDesign
Thanks for the input. Jim is right, pony walls do work. It just takes some very careful manipulation. You have to work primarily with the top wall type. John
