Change Roof Rafter Direction To Run Parallel to Baseline?

Recommended Posts

I think I remember a thread or two regarding the subject and am working on an older house that has a parapet roof with the roof rafters running parallel to the baseline (versus the default perpendicular) and haven't found a method to reproduce the condition. I'm aware that Chief does not like to frame this way and can probably take care of any details/sections pretty easily but am curious about methods or workarounds.

Oh yeah the roof is not flat but only 1/4" ft slope.

Thanks

You want the rafters running like this?

You can tilt the baseline.

So you would like the pitch to run the long direction and the framing to run the short direction ?

Looks like Eric solved it again.   Your Signature could use an update Larry.

You can tilt the baseline.

Yeah that works. Never tilted a baseline before, never knew you could. Good stuff. Thanks

Never mind, I found the option;  for any future users:  baseline angle under general tab in roof. This allows for a roof pitch opposite the baseline direction
