BillsburgChief
I'm trying to figure out why Chief Architect keeps crashing every time I try to print? Any Chief file I try to print, no matter if it's a plan or layout. Plan is attached 17-203_Walker_Residence_II.plan
Kbird1
Did you try Printing to PDF ? I don't have X7 on this Machine but a View Printed to PDF in X9 works..... I didn't send to Layout , maybe that is the difference? 17-203_Walker_Residence_II_X9_PDF.pdf

Kbird1
Did you try Clearing the Printer Info in CA and setting it up again ? is it only CA crashing , eg can you print in Word? sounds like it might be one for Tech Support but most likely the 1st thing to try is Clearing the Printer Info, this Tutorial has that Info in it : https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00085/troubleshooting-printing-issues.html
BillsburgChief
Yes, its only in CA. I can print from all my other software. I did send it tech support, but I'll try clearing the printer info. Thanks, and I'll let you know!

Dan_Park
In old versions of Chief we stored binary printer information in the plan. When working on porting to the Mac I changed printing to store that information in a format that is much more stable and portable. If the plan was created in and printed from an older version of Chief it could still contain that data. We attempt to convert that data when printing an old plan but that data can cause problems if it does not correctly match installed printer drivers. Clear printer info was added many, many versions ago to remove that data specifically because we knew of some cases where bad data caused crashes. In plans created in newer versions of Chief that have had the clear printer info command executed you should not see crashes when printing like we did in older versions. If you do please report them to support along with a copy of the plan that fails.
