San Francisco Bay Area - Looking for a contract job captain

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I am an architect in Oakland using Chief Architect x8. I am looking for someone with about 3 years of architectural experience to act as a job captain/drafter on a contract basis. My office specializes in ADU's (granny flats), additions, and remodeling projects. Currently I have projects in Vallejo, Sunnyvale, Danville, San Francisco and points in between.

You need to have your own x8 license and experience not just drafting in CA, but pulling together Construction Documents for projects in the Bay Area. You will need to be able to:

1) create models in CA of existing buildings (houses) and sites based on my field measurements and photos.

2) correct and revise my models of the proposed new work. I am particularly inept at creating roofs and terrain.

3) revise models of existing and new based on my sketches.

4) layout and create CDs for projects in California, particularly the Bay Area, with knowledge of Title 24 and Green Code requirements.

5) draft details based on your experience in Type V construction and my sketches.

This position is on a contract basis. You must have your own x8 license, and your own computer equipment. You will be working remotely. Project work will not be in a continual flow, but episodic in nature. You will be able to meet reasonable deadlines. Communication between us is key.

Ideal candidate will have a professional architectural degree, at least 3 years experience working for architects, and be pursuing a license in architecture.

If you are interested, please email me at dslocicero@gmail.com

Please provide your resume in PDF format. DO NOT send any examples of your work at this time. No phone calls at this time.

Thanks for reading this far!

Cheers,

I am remodeling a home in Monterey and have it designed in Chief X8 but need someone to take the concept and moving it to framing detail for building permits.

The home is a Post and Beam Adobe with 8 x 8 post and 12x8 beam.  It has Adobe that has failed between the Posts.  We need framing detail to replace the Adobe with 2x8 studs.  The home is built on slab so new PT plate under the  posts and new studs.

Chiefcarmeljohn, I'm not sure how I can help you. Your project is well outside of my geographic area for working.

Hi there, I'm new to Chief Architect using X9. Looking to collaborate with others from the Bay Area. I'm from Vallejo and interested in companies in the area that use Chief Architect. Here's a link to my website  http://tedvisaya.com/index.html

Would like to hook up with a company that needs a CAD Design specialist. I'm highly proficient with Solidworks and have been converting models from there to Chief. Let me know if anyone is interested. I can build models from spec sheets and insert them into Chief.

      Hi all-

I own a small residential design firm near Boston, MA and I’m looking to outsource my plans from the conceptual phase thru final construction docs. I would have 20-30 hours a week to fill if I had the right person. The work could be remote from anywhere or could report to my office. Looking to start pretty much right away. Shoot me a message or email ethan@eckstromhomedesigns.com with a sample set of plans and your hourly or per job pricing. I’ll attached some examples of my work, I like my sets to be as detailed and clean looking as possible.

      Thanks!

I am a creative Cadd designer with unique experience and perspective from my collection of work as a designer. I have 10 years experience as an engineering tech and cadd designer, working for architects and engineers.

I  use Chief Architect Premier X9 - X11(SSA member) and have used Chief Architect since Version X6, or for roughly 5-8 years. I use Team Viewer and Zoom meeting to conduct online meetings and review work together online. I am technologically versed in all types of Cadd programs, and other software that help me in my design business.

I am happy to talk with you about your design needs, or to review your plan with you online to see how we could work together. I am on the east coast of SW Florida. My rates can be discussed on a per project basis, or hourly based on the size and scope of the project.

Hi! We are doing a fairly large home renovation and we are really close to getting started. However, I am not 100% sold on the plans we have from our architect and want to get a 2nd opinion of sorts to accomplish the changes we want on the 2nd floor. I was thinking of trying to do it myself with software until I came across this forum. Is this something someone here does well? If so, what is your hourly rate? I need a quick turn around as we are trying to get permits submitted this month and would need to discuss with our contractor prior to that. I would rather not go back to the architect at this point. I live in a colonial in northern NJ if that makes a difference.
      Thanks!
