Kevin, Not sure why this worked, but I fixed it by changing your foundation wall definition. Put ALL your foundation layers (stone and air gap) onto the MAIN layer with the conc. blocks.
-
Maybe you've already figured it out... but if not, another easy way is to make a copy of your plan, auto-rebuild the roofs, copy the curved part, paste hold-position into your original plan.
-
I lined up everything in plan view, then in Elevation view of one of the ends moved everything into position. Didn't know if you wanted small gaps for detail clarity... left a few.
-
Here you go Solids.zip
-
Use CAD detail from view to accurately place lines you can snap to in the 3D model. Cut and paste/hold position into the 3D model.

LOL... no no... those go horizontally...

I'm sure one of the super-user guru's will chime-in, as I don't use the materials functionality of Chief, but quite sure this has to do with Chief's number rounding

Kevin, when you contact Chief about this bug, do note that your vertical tile material is rock solid on a simple rectangular p-solid... it's got something to do with the bullnose shape.
-
Are you saying that you're sure all the edges are there in the model but when you turn it into a symbol the edges disappear?

I just did a little experiment because I had a thought that this may have to do with the P-solid shape rather than the material. I just replaced the bullnose with a flat rectangular piece, and dragged the bullnose a few inches to the side. When I do the Adjust Material tool without changing anything but click OK, I do not get the randomness on the new flat P-solid, but your bullnose continues to change. Definitely seems to be related to the way it's interacting with the P-solid to me. Could be a bug... @SNestor Did you have a look? @Alaskan_Son @glennw... any ideas?
-
Sorry, I thought you originally said changing one was affecting the other. Just having a little deeper look at this...
-
The double clicking to open has had no effect (so far), but the Change Material tool certainly does... but you have to not change anything and say Okay.. if you Cancel nothing happens... and it's not consistent. Sometimes nothing happens.
-
Okay... although I'm not seeing any changes on the backsplash, I am getting some weird behavior with the bullnose. If I use the Adjust Material tool and click on either the backsplash or the bullnose and then close the tool without changing anything the bullnose tile will change. Hmmm....
-
Anyway... FWIW... I'm using the Adjust Material tool on the bullnose and nothings changing on the backsplash....
-
Seems to be missing some of the texture files... no bullnose showing

Are you selecting CAD block? I should say... you must be selecting make CAD block... choose make Architectural block

Make a symbol from the top and another symbol for the bottom... stack them and then block them

Sure, you can block 3D objects

Good idea too. Makes me wish Chief had 'instancing' ability though...

You'd have to create a separate symbol for the column base and column top in order to do what you want. There is no separate input for individual stretch planes of the same orientation.

So you're sure the material on your bullnose is a completely separately named material from your backsplash material?
-
Well just read through that thread I linked above and my understanding of it is that all that happens when you use the 'un-check global symbol mapping' method and you do it correctly (which you'll need to see video from Eric and following comment from Mick... you find that all that's happened is that Chief has simply automatically made copies of the same material.. except they all will have the same name. So my take-away is it's much better to create your own named copies so you at least have some idea of what's what.. assuming your naming scheme is helpful in that regard.

Kevin, found this hit on the subject FWIW..
-
Just searched that and the first hit is Kevin's post... which you said the same thing.

You're not going to like this, but you need to have a different copy of each altered material each with it's own name. Each time you alter the SAME material def. it's going to change everywhere else you have that same material.
