  1. This deck texture is just applied to a simple 3d plane.
  2. I finally started a rock collection...now I have some great rocks in my Chief library to use, resize, and manipulate in future design projects.
  3. There were only a few rocks in the Chief Library, so I spent a day finding some modeled rocks, then fixing the UV's in Zbrush so that my rock surface textures play well with them. I take photos of rocks, and surfaces where ever I go, when the light is right, then I tile them using CS5, then prep them in Materialize, and sometimes create the final texture in Quixel mixer. Chief plays well with the PBR textures. For height in Chief, I generally choose normal maps. The ground on this one was fun to make.
  4. I wanted a realistic looking fireplace insert, so I made a texture that applies to a flat 3D plane. Very happy with it.
  5. Rendered in Chief, creating textures for library.
  6. Messing around with some textures I made. I took the photos for them on my walks this last week, played with them in photoshop, and moved to Texturize, then imported into X17. Not using the bumps for height, just normal maps and AO, and a couple have metalness. I am figuring out the ray trace render process, so these images are mostly just shapes for practice. I am liking what I am seeing.

  10. Note the subtle stains on the foundation and the fascia.
  11. I like the wet look of the stamped concrete.
  12. Rendered in Chief. I have been working on creating new textures for my library. Really enjoying it. No AI.
