They will update once you open them...which you would have to do anyway to re-align the text and fills that are used.

That's a workaround Lew. No need for workarounds if you use the program correctly. Simply open the structures room DBX like other have said and set the heights.

Select the window, and with AUTO ROOFS on, simply click the tool to add the gable over the door. With out AUTO ROOFS on, you will have to manually draw those roof planes and place them.

Yes. Cut the details directly from the model in the area that you are detailing. This page is a example of details that are "live", meaning if the model changes, these details will update. They will need a little TLC after the update to ensure the fill and labels are updated, but otherwise they are good to go.

I rarely "draw" a detail any longer. Model it correctly and cut the section to create the detail. 

Build the model and cut the details directly from there...nothing to draw, just model and go. Fine tune them and save them to your library or, like I do, keep the majority of them live.

Once I imported the file, many of the layers were WHITE with a line weight of 1. I started clicking and found the trusses, roof planes, doors and windows....changed the layer color and they appeared.

There is that 5%....would you mind posting it so that I/we can investigate?

I bet the fill patterns are there as well as blocks with white properties. In my experience that is the case 95% of the time.

It came in as a block and the block properties were white. Need to select it and change the properties.

Nope. I think the sill plate get's centered to the bottom plate/wall above, but when a brick veneer is added, and the foundation is then offset to account for the brick ledge, no matter how thick you make the foundation wall, the 2x6 will be out of place. The only quick and easy way that I know of to fix it, is to make the plate a 2x4.

Change it to a 2x4 and it will move itself into the proper location. HATE the way the sill plate reacts to brick ledges!!!

I'm absolutely sure that I know 100% of what I need to know. The rest is not even on my mind.

He/She has already purchased the plans, built the home, and is living in the home. No infringement.

Make sure the layer is unlocked. I modify them all the time from the TRUSS DETAIL in the CAD detail window.

Open the CAD details managment box and look at the truss detail. You can modify the truss from there. I use this tool to add duct chases in my floor trusses.

You will have to create the roof for the pool house manually. If you created an entire house, the pool house roof should be a piece of cake.

Block the 18x24 title block and copy/paste it to the larger sheet and make the adjustments.

I export the Anno/Layer Sets out to my desktop and then import them into my template plan.

Importing the AutoCAD file would not save anytime at all, in fact it would add hours to the process. I have been using Chief for many, many years, and cannot get the CAD to WALLS option to save me anytime at all. 

I would create it with solids rather than the stair tool. It really isn't a staircase as much as simply a series of landings. Save yourself the headache and build it with solids.

You may need to adjust those with temp dims to bring everything to the center point you want.

First you need to wrap the exterior walls. Will the brick wrap or the siding? You need to make those connections first and the interior walls should then snap where they belong.

I'm curious as to why you aren't taking those specific sections straight from the model?

Borrow an AutoCAD seat to do the job. You will spend countless hours trying to do this in Chief. Chief Architect is not setup to be an Auto CAD companion.
