  1. You must have deleted the "Attic Walls" which is the best way to do those. I have an attic wall created that is 1.5" thick with no material and framing unchecked so that the sheathing, housewrap, and siding are all there, but the truss fits in and replaced the "wall framing".

Add that "attic wall" back in and all the other factors you mentioned take care of themselves.

I hope that’s going to be metal or some kind of synthetic. When I see the word “framing” I default assume wood

The general framing tool allows for making those members metal. Either "C" channels or steel boxes just like what is shown in the OP pic.

  3. My guess, that is a "deck" and you disconnected a wall to make a change or some sort of design move. When you do that all the decking and framing will disappear unless you check the box that tells Chief to "keep framing".

Older versions were not as bad at simply dropping all your framing if you moved a wall, X16 is. Still gets me everything I have a deck or balcony.

Hit the REBUILD framing button and it will come back, but be warned, the beams and posts will be different if you had moved those during your design process. Be prepared to redo all that custom framing work.

  4. Draw them manually, use the back-clipped back section camera and cut the details from your model, download the details library, bring CAD details into a CAD Detail and adjust. Many ways to do it.

    Joey,

How did you create the B+B with the Material Region? Would you mind sharing?

    Thanks,

While in Elevation camera view I draw a small strip, then open that strip to modify. Most important to me, is to uncheck the box that cuts the existing siding so that the batten sets on top of the siding. Size and shape accordingly.
