  1. Here you Go Joe. Also not sure why my plans are so large in size, maybe you can figure that one out too. Thanks lewis proposed plan.plan
  2. In the picture I have attached it is showing that my studs and my plate in a couple of the rooms are below the top of the stem wall. All the settings appear to be the same for all the rooms. I have had this happen before but can't seem to figure it out. Please help. Thanks.
  3. So True So True. I have dual Monitors as well as a Nvidia CArd and I crash constantly right in the middle of something important as well. I am about to upgrade my my card and hopefully fix the problem.
  4. I bow to thee Alaskan_Son, you made your point very well, almost to well that maybe you should be working at Chief. Nice tutorial. YOU DA BOMB. I will be using some of those techniques. Here is the final rendition of what I was trying to achieve when I asked the question of how to divide an area equally. Thanks again,
  5. Ok, since I am the OP I am going to clarify that the answer to this original question is not just dividing a line into 4 equal parts its dividing into any equal parts. Multiple Copy is the only way this can be done properly. Joe is correct it does not work breaking a line because you can only do it in equal numbers. Thanks for all the comments all are good but just know that there are other out there that benefit from this as much as I do is a great.
  6. Here is an example of what I was trying to do to create my coffered ceiling and how it was created by the answer I got.
  7. no you just draw a line and then use the multiple copy and set the interval of the divided areas you would like to have. Super simple and that is what I was looking for.
  8. Thanks again for all your help, it is the little things like this that make a huge difference and the great people on this forum. Here is what I was trying to achieve with that little tid bit of info.
  9. Thanks Ken, I could not for the life of me remember that tool.
  10. The only way to do it! I have been using all caps since high school 30 years ago and that is the way I have always done it. Unless I have some notes I will sometimes use the lower case but for the most part I set up my template to be consistent and only caps.
  11. Ok guys, I know there is a way to do it and I can't keep spending time trying to find it so I am hoping that someone can help me figure this out. I am trying to do a coffered ceiling and I want the grid to be equal boxes. the way I usually do it in AutoCAd is take a line and divide that line equally to fin the centers of m beam. How can I divide a line into 4 part or distribute a line along a line. I have tried align/distribute but when I pick the line it does not give me the capability to distribute along the line just align...
  12. Shadows in Elevations! Huge improvement to making it look more like an Architectural set of plans. I guess the competition to Sketchup is keep up or get out. Watch out Chief as Google might try and snap you up to keep you out of the business.
  13. Thank you all for your positive comments and I agree this is one nice beg upgrade just for this feature alone but there are many more and I hope they keep getting better. As for my settings, it is pretty easy as I send my views off with only Vector view, no color and just play with the adjust Sunlight angles until you like what you see. I keep the intensity at 100% but adujst the Tilt and Direction until I feel it looks like what I am trying to capture.
  14. I love the new shadow featture in x8 it gives my drawings that much more of a punch that I was missing. I used to have a block in AutoCAD that I would bring in to add that just to give it more of a Architectural Hand drawing that all CAD programs seem to leave out. Every thing helps as each program evolves. Now if I could just ask CA to outline all my Elevations to emphasize it that much more. One other thing that I wish Chief would get rid of is all those damn Arrows and simplify it down to only a few and add a nice thick line Architectural Tic arrow. Sadowski elevations.pdf
  15. Seriously Justin maybe it is possible that you have been lifting way to many heavy things and don't understand the actual question as well not understanding the visual presentation of the PDF. We are all talking about the eliminating the small vaulted portion of the ceiling as to have a longer seat cut to the rafter and nothing to do with the tail of the rafter. Raising the ceiling height does not fix the issue of the the wall height nor eliminating the small vaulted portion. (Just sayin )
  16. Yes but Is there a way to raise the wall height to match the bottom of the ceiling joists so it shows correctly? Thanks by the way.
