Post the plan

I'm using a pass thru for a security curtain ( roll up door ) and I want to change window schedule to say "security curtain" not pass thru. TY Glen
-
Is there a way to get a "pass thru" window to show up in the window schedule as a "security curtain"? I can use " no material " for glass and it will be on window schedule but description is "Fixed Glass". This is for a "roll up security curtain" and that's what I want it to say in schedule.

You can fix it manually very quickly. Grab center roof over bay and pull it to ridge of house, open dbx of center bay roof and lower ridge until same as house at the intersecting point. Then open dbx of side roof plans of bay and match ridge height of center roof. Lock fascia height.

CA does all I need and I consider myself very good with CA for my line of work. I know the 3d world has REALLY become an important part of design work and therefore CA needs to keep up. In ver2 we could only draw walls, no roofs and look at it now.

We all use CA differently so therefore CA will NEVER be perfect for everyone. I have been on board since version 2 and I know it works best for me and what I do. I'm a design/build contractor for Homes & light commercial and CA is my best choice. If it wasn't I would be buying what is and as long as I've been using CA we have ALWAYS used 3rd party programs for one reason or another. Its a holiday weekend, EVERYONE ENJOY!

Kevin (OP):
Your comments (with a twist) have been bounced around on Chief Talk many times. When I got into Chief (v7 - 2001), I had almost absolutely zippo CAD experience on my resume, and other than dabbling with Sketchup a wee bit, that is still true today. In other words, Chief Architect is IT for me now and in the foreseeable future. At this stage in my life, I have NO interest in keeping up with the Jones' or all the other CAD and other fancy software out there for architects, designers, engineers, etc. I am not saying that I definitely won't ever use some other software for my design work, but at this point in time, I don't see it happening. Chief is it for me ... it, for the most part, does what I need it to do.
Yes, I still have some quibbles about some aspects of the software. If I get my head out of the sand one of these days, I will hit the suggestion forum and/or TS with my "issues" and hopefully, CA will come through with the changes I want to see. I have seen it happen many many times in the past - and unless I drop dead tomorrow, I will see improvements in the program many times in the future. Those guys and gals in Coeur d'Alene are listening to us, believe it or not.
I have to agree with Mark ... Chief has a great staff that really do care about the program and its users' satisfaction with it. CA is a small company that has produced a GREAT product that serves most of us quite well. Yes, it takes time to learn it, especially if your like me with not much computer experience. I look forward to future improvement in the program and REALLY appreciate all the other users who come to bat for us when we can't figure things out. Thank you gurus for all those "work arounds" and all the tech support you provide.
Thank you for your comments ... hopefully you are or will be sending in your specific suggestions for improving CA and/or making feature requests.

Use soffit tool
-
Like Richard suggested, I used p-solids.
-
Attach plan file. Previous attachments have been layout files.

Open wall dbx , select wall type and you can see the adjustment for pony walls
-
Floors are better. In foundation next time make a wall type that includes the interior wall in the same layer. Structure tab in room dbx is where I did most adjusting.
-
-
Got to window dbx and change each material there or change window defaults.
-
3d warehouse has an A.D.A. roll in shower symbol
-
It requires a work around, same as others but posted plan.
-
Use doorway tool, adjust it, poly slab for door. You would not see drywall or plaster when looking into access panel.
-
-
Foundation wall uncheck "floor hangs on wall"
-
Post the plan please, but try this. Open wall dbx/go to structure tab/default wall height.

If hatch is showing on your layout it will print to pdf. Make sure your layout "hatch" layer is on.
