  1. I did this design for a customer without moving anything over. Pretty much what Mick did there, just raise the elevation of desired deck area and thats all there is to it. This is a 3 tier deck.

With that said why would you want to frame one deck on top of another in the first place. Waste of money, lumber and double work.

  2. Dave in a free version you can set up 5 annotations and point out certain home features to your customers, it also makes more easy to navigate. Check out the paid version is very cheap, its only $10 a month. Its worth to upgrade and be able to do much more with it.

  3. Thanks Greg---much appreciated for your time. If I may make one comment. The precast cement unit usually has an 8" tread and 8" rise. This is true for the units made in our area anyway. In the picture it looks to be less both ways. I may be incorrect. It's a great symbol with good detail.

     Hi Larry,

Yes, you're right...I just checked the stairs, I just dropped the stairs in. I wasn't  concerned about them, I made it for display only, so the customer can get an idea what that structure looks like and how its being attached to the foundation.

Larry, I just took the width and the height  of actual structure and broke it up into  equal segments, when I get home I will check what they came out to be.and let you know... but its very close.

    Thanks and Enjoy

  5. If I'm not mistaken it started out as 3d CAD and after the name was changed to 3d home architect and I think it was sold by Broderbund products (this going back to early 2000). I think the last version of that was 18 or something like this.and after in late 2000 Chief Architect surfaced.

With that said, if I need a quick a symbol I will make it in Chief, if I need more detailed symbol I will use sketchup, its faster, more options, better capability, etc frankly speaking it was designed for modeling. Even CA using 3d party software to make library models.
