@HumbleChief - don't have X15 yet, but could it be that the two filters want to return elements that satisfy both filters ?

I think that's exactly right but not used to the new features and not too sharp sometimes as well.. :D

  2. I see what I was not doing after watching the video. We need to delete the first search term in order to make the new search term valid.

And now it seems to be working as expected. And I see that exhaust fans was a subdirectory of Fans and hence showed up as expected but would not show up as long as bryant sconce was also selected. Horrible explanation but I get it now.

I don't like the new X15 library search filter. It takes up too much of the screen. I like the simple, clean x14 search bar that hides my library folders when producing the results. Anyway to get that back? Even the library toolbar added a title taking up more space.

I'm not a fan either. It seems to take longer to find simple items and adds a couple features I don't need.

    Hello,

I'd like to know if there is a way to see materials in 3d cutaways as solids.

For example I want to see studs as a solid, not as a 6 plane object that i can "see through". The same with beams, sheathing, etc.

Thanks in advance for the help.

One of the first suggestions ideas I had about the 3D cutaways. If they were shown as solids then the detailing would be epic with those 3D cutaway shots used in details. But alas, not happening.

Mow Strips using the Grass Region tool allow you to color and set a mow pattern.  And… you can use the ‘extend to horizon’ to avoid the ‘floating effect’.  Have you tried using the offset reference display?  Here’s an example using the neighbor’s house (see video).

LOVE the new 3D grass region but have never had any success using the 3D ref display, offset or otherwise.

    Larry,

And just to tidy it up, in your video you asked bout the longer dashes at the start and End of the dashed lines.

DB gave you the answer in an earlier post:

    Preferences>CAD>Line Properties>Endcap Printed Length.

Got it Glenn Thanks. Maybe that will help the OP?

  7. Oh My Freaking GOD! I/we did it! I/we did it! THANK YOU Michael so much for the kick in the behind to get it done. I kinda sorta knew everything you described but haven't played for so long it all slipped away. I ended up with a 1/64th dash with a 1/64th space and a slightly smaller line weight and that should work for the next 20 years!! Thank you so much again. Really appreciate it. And hope it helps Alan in some way to make the thread highjack worthwhile.

I'm going to call this the Chiefer Paradox.  A situation where you can't achieve Requirement X with the tools given (or at least without putting in more effort than is desired) so you change your approach to alleviate that requirement altogether.  If the requirement was alleviated, was it really ever a requirement at all?

Too true and for years I have wanted smaller dashed lines but for some unknown reason :P I've been creating plans all those years with dashed lines that are too wide. Thanks Michael for reaffirming some pre-existing internal insight.

As an aside I can't enter .0001 into either dbx on my system but I guess it wasn't "really ever a requirement at all."
