  2. Honestly, I deleted the 2D shadow trees from my personal Library. Just click on the link in the first page in this thread (I see it above). But they do not cast as nice of a shadow as 3D trees do. Follow my first steps in the beginning of this thread as I add 3D trees for shadows.
  3. I don’t use TM any more. Check in the grass / plants area. It’s a sub menu
  4. Correct, I updated my language above This is what I find. I never question Michael, and I do always learn from him. This is what I am learning for being able to change the garage door into a Door. https://my-plan.stevenyhofdesigns.com/v/HjmT6E57Z2hjPRpM0LMZ
  5. I did not know there was an option for Add to Library As tool. Going to look into that. Thank you
  6. Non of my doors used Doorway as a symbol from the start. I tried that and that is goofy. The video above shows how I make a door symbol and use that to generate the same panel garage door, and that symbol shows up in the DBX in the Library list, again because it is a symbol. Once the Door symbol is made and put into a wall, you can open the garage door and change all the settings you want and then save that to the Library. This now is only a garage door and can only be inserted into a wall from the library and not from the DBX library list (it is no longer a symbol). You can still open it in the Library and change its settings as a garage door. IF HOWEVER, you create a full sized garage door (7' x 18') as a Door symbol it will show up in the DBX library list. But only as a symbol, and you cannot change the settings like you can in the example above. So, if you want to be able to swap out full garage doors you would want to create a Door symbol as a full size garage door and leave it as a symbol. The doors that have the row of glass in them where saved as a full size garage door symbol, but then I still adjusted the settings I wanted and saved that to the Library so that when I inserted it into a wall, all my garage door settings were in place. When I have a client that wants to change a 16' wide garage door to an 18' garage door, I delete the existing door and add the new 18' wide garage door from the library. By doing it this way I know that all my default settings will come with that garage door when it is placed and I have nothing to change. It would be nice if I could swap out a garage door from the DBX or the library tool because I would not need to relocate the door or attach the dimension again.
  7. @Chrisb222 So based on my videos, what am I missing on my doors that could make them work? Thank you
  8. What I am finding is that it needs to be a symbol to show up in the DBX https://my-plan.stevenyhofdesigns.com/v/W7xS5a3le3OoCEuhaSUw Here is more of why the one works and the other does not https://my-plan.stevenyhofdesigns.com/v/LfjOvLqiaAst1tXNT5CT
  9. Hi Gene, I am not looking at my doors, but maybe as a symbol I have some option not set. I did make these in X15 while still learning Chief so it is possible I do not have something correct. When I want to use the garage doors I just put then in the plan on my garage wall and move on, so I have not tried what you are talking about. Now I am curious as to what is different.
  10. Yes, please drag the door you want from the library onto the garage wall. Thank you
  11. Hi Gene, There should be complete garage doors in the library as well with a top row of glass. Let me know if you cannot find that.
  12. I made these up long ago. Don't use them much but now and then when I just want to grab something I can copy and paste into the plan. Note that all the fireplaces have a line through the center and inline with the exterior wall. Copy the fireplace and the 2 lines so you can place it in your plan exactly where you want it. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1I49m4HgjK6S3DOTrfi1wkRdZFX86K3_r/view?usp=sharing
  13. Also YouTube for Chief Architect and mulled windows, or Grills
  14. Download my library of porch roof details and put it together...
  15. You most likely have your views set to Live mode. Change them to Plot mode You will have a clearer image and much smaller file size
  16. Its funny. It is a paver material and yet you cannot see the pattern as a paver from the plan view. (You would add a hatch pattern to see a pattern in plan view). When I put the material on a wall the elevation still loads fast. It mush be that in elevation when used as a paver (flat) all those pattern lines are stacked on top of each other horizontally, guessing. Since I will never use a paver on a wall, I think I will remove the patterns from my common pavers as I have never used the patterns anyway. My guess is that I have used it in the past but maybe smaller areas and the elevation loaded more slowly but must have been tolerable.
  17. Wow! That was it! I've used this stone material many times before. It's right out of Chief. I deleted the pattern and it all works great! Thank you so much for diving in to this for me.
  18. Good catch! You know for some reason my plan was missing the pattern on some of the concrete. I updated it with a concrete pattern but that did not fix the loading. Can you let me know what you found specifically?
  19. hmmm. That is still a bit of a long time to load an elevation although less than what I am getting. I made copy of the file and plan to slowly remove things to try and find the issue. I would say that from 2000 to over 6000 sq.ft. homes load my elevations in like 5 seconds, maybe 10 at most. Something is in this file I need to find.
  20. Thank you! I will look into this. My issue is more that I have used these patterns and details, with my interior in place, etc. and do not have this issue with other plans. I will try to find the issue and update the post.
  21. I will add that I thought I needed a polyline to make my manual grills, but I need lines only. However, that does not change the generation issue
  22. Anyone know of a way to find out why this rear elevation takes so long to load? I've had hatch patterns that take some time, but this is a normal hatch pattern. It is a larger home but there is nothing special going on with the rear elevation. As far as a know things were fine several weeks ago, but now that I open it again it is taking a long time to generate. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1jV7ciZ5kKl3RlMhlDu3jNUWVwwJX1o-y/view?usp=sharing Thank you, Steve Correction update: All elevations I shut my furniture off and my roof. I am trying to add manual grills to my arched window and every click I make takes forever.
  23. Here is my project updated with the new beds and drawers... And the plan looks cleaner now also... And with steps with drawers...
  24. I thought that was a model you made - Wow! I was searching Sketchup and could not find anything so real -
