  1. With out being an architect some one may think he has the talent to design, but that can't be well with out applying architectural science some how in his works, I mean if he believe that he can't design with out referring different tools and compiled architects data then it is obvious he respects architecture and the architect. But believe me, if there is some one here arguing design with out the knowledge of architectural science is OK , he really misses the point.
  2. Bill you are right, joe's method has a very nice control, try it some more you will ways to controll. Actually if you managed to close the 360 then I think noProblem. Don't forget to make off some snaps like grid, angle snaps .. Or Hold CTRLfor controlled movement too. Curtis thanks,
  3. Thanks Joe. Actually for more than 360 it needs 2 or more stairs should be used. I have posted the plan in earlier thread for discussion and no one has responded I was experimenting on it too. May be I have to look at it to fit with your spec. Hopefully it works may be I have to make a video for that method too.
  4. Thanks Joe. I am not offending but chief is smarter than its creators by default,or they are hiding that parts for some reason! I repeat this is for Doug. Joe in the same way as the video it is possible even more than 30degree angle regarding the 360 closure. I believe there is a lot more undiscovered capabilities of ca. Thanks
  5. 1.5x the normal speed. Edited the video to decrease uploaded bites. I am using prepaid devise. No one can be fast as such.
  6. Lary, is it still invisible or working some should assist me to make it well.
  7. Sorry guys tonight I am having troubles with my internet connection, I wasn't able to follow the talk ,but is it ok now I was struggling with posting the link. I don't know how I posted this even. Is it normal this youtube screen in my post. Hey Scott English is my 99th language. Thought silent cry was better, anyway I will try it in the future. Glad if that worked. Thanks
  8. cant post the link i couldn't figure out why the link doesn't work!

  10. Rich thanks for the compliment. You said it well.
  11. Bill, some findings are accidental while searching for one thing you may arrive to unintended perfect solutions.I was simply checking to what extent I can get closer to the 360 degree and it closed. Then proceeded experimenting how exactly it could work. That is how reached to conclude the above instructions step by step. Did you tried it? By the way in the old forum I remember you were the first person to find the relation ship between roofs and cad plines. That was great inspiration to get in to experimenting chiefs hidden capabilities. Doug must get involved here and explain why this simple issue had not been solved for all this time. I feel still the current capability of ca is still mystery even for it's founders and engineers. They did a very powerful drafting and 3d modelling software that I believe its deficiencies are not exactly the real ones that should exist. If had a programming knowledge I would help identify the lines that needs re arrangements in the existing programs. I like this software because always I find new ways to do the things I do. My position regarding the potential capabilities of chief is that it can beat even the BIM apps if time is spent on analysis of hidden powers.
  12. Joe, that is possible. Not chief's problem but poor programming. Simply drag slowly at least 4 times by dragging the tail towards the head until it coincides. Drag once and when you see the curve constricting, stop and widen the diameter again repeat this step maximum 4 times. Take care to follow the the circumference of the circular path or initially draw a cad circle not to miss the path. Finaaly you will get it done. Cross check this by changing the curved stair to strait one using the usual command. Then you will c an extra ordinary stair with zero length. That is a proof you made the 360 degree move!
  13. Thanks guys, I will check out this jing.I will keep in touch. Scott You are kidding. The father of workarounds is Scott. and we are trying to follow his foot steps.
  14. Thanks,I wish I could make a video to share such things, but I don't have any idea how to set up for that. Robert you are right. it depends ,but this chief has a lot hidden capabilities.
  15. Robert, this is nice but, the roof Related symbols are sharp regarding control over curvatures to some extent.
  16. Thanks but I believe chief can do a lot complicated objects. The roof tool in collaboration with cad poly lines union, subtraction and intersection is some thing that makes chief on top of every program, but really its capability is even under estimated by it's owners and programmers.Thank you all.
  17. Most of the time I insist people do complain about chief, with less understanding on how it does what it does. surely the programme is mysterious even for the chief folks! This spescific problem is pretty simple and done in three steps using ceiling planes! shapes.zip
  18. Tommy, I tried to match your sample volute to show if the method fits those you asked. If it is OK fine, if not may be we could still do some workarounds to make it work.
  19. I will post the plan If you are interested with the way I do it, I am not home for now. it contains an automatic starter thread with volute and hope it helps, at least you can customise to your needs. May be mine doesn't fit yours or your codes. The main thing is learning how to do such things in chief. Chief can do a lot more if we understand.
  20. Draw circle and a rectangular box, overlap half of the circle and subtract it. If you want to use the half circle in to architectural object you must select the circular arc and change it in in a number of small segments, the command is at the bottom modify tools exactly I don't remember the name, I am using my phone now. But near the tool convert lines to arc and arcs to straight line, nearly precedes this command.
  21. 3,8,13,18,23,28… The sequence has a difference of 5 between each other. It is obvious But if someone is asked to tell the 999th term of this sequence he may say, it needs writing this sequence 999 numbers to reach up on that value asked. And tell it is tedious. While someone else may just formulate the sequence and find that the nth term of the sequence =5n-2 After that finding he will respond in less than a minute for the 9999th and 99999th terms. in the same seconds. I think some users see easier ways to handle some issues to be fixed. I don’t know about programming language but I am sure some things that seems to ca staffers it needs a program rewrite may have an easier ways to handle it and a layman like me may suggest precise solution for some problem that you couldn't figure out , that doesn't mean you don’t know it, but simply that person may have looked at the problem from an angle you may have never stood to look at the issue. thanks for reading the note and please ca listen more to what users say to step up chief to "Edge versions" from the old "x- versions"
