Mick thanks glad if that helped. 1 draw a roof with facia and ridge the same height(roof horizontal no slope) 2 draw a cad polyline that has the shape and dimensions of your window 3 copy holding C inward to set the frame 4 click the curved parts and change to around 32 segments( actually it depends) the main thing is to get smooth curve. 5 the next step is subtracting cad plines from the roof to get sky lights and set frame width the minimum value. 6 change to symbol.......

R-Faber, really nice one. Dennis i agree stair and railing issues need improvements. combination of the ramps,stair and railings follow stairs are those things I was experimenting. Until ca does improvements, I will add one thing to Faber's nice go. I found one quality ramps possess in having controll over the railing top and bottom heights by manually making the the top and bottom heights the same to the stair or if you need to lower/raise the railing subtract/add some kvalue from the top and bottom. Around the landing(decks) make a ramp which its top and bottom height equal to landing(deck) top height(-/+ kvalue). so you will have a 0 slope ramp that you can put surrounding the edges of the landing(deck) with the desired heights. When you finish this step you will choose using the ramp railing or by making off the ramp railing,putting a railing wall to follow the ramp which fully leads us to controlled railing top and bottom height. Regarding the newels, breaking the ramp in to number of segments in line would help also. Thanks

Scott, thanksthis way is how I did this spiral stair.I am finishing my experiments on achieving cable rails, deck railing of any kind, all kinds railings attached to the sides of stairs and landings extending halfway or any dimension one may need to extend bellow stair level. I mean all most all the questions people were asking ca to improve is already there. That is why I insist a lot more unseen .... Ca pay attention to the user development kit. Scott, that worked. After finishing this full ones. Go to stair spec,lock the thread depth and drag it you can go from 23 up to 33 threads this way. Dragging is better in 3d isometric viewed from top.

Scott that is cool, I am fixing the formula for the things you raised, I thing it will be based first the angle will be the determinant of the number of threads. Say for example like bills spiral stair in the past talk was 30 degree so 360/30 is 12, so n=12-1=11, his total number of threads were 13.there fore we need two stairs one 11 and the other 2,so after following the method for the lower 11, then snapping the polygon Edges for the rest two will fix it. Any way I am thinking of trying to lock the thread depth after finishing the full rotation as explained in the video and dragging the the uppermost stair from 1 up to n number of threads, this way I think will solve spiral stair of any angle and any number of threads. So let me try this fixes and we are going to explain the outcome by the Ethiopian accent as you said. That is cool Scott I like it. I started building your roof manually from left to right, actually done hard Parts as per your sketch. 2ndly I couldn't figure out whether you discarded what you have done before in the middle part of your house, but that part is easy to make it your previous one. Any way try to post the sketch of what exactly you like the rest of your building to look like. Here are some pictures of the finished parts,just a little tweek remains.

Try to use save as file A1,A2. ..... Any kind of arrangement you may adapt with, never trust chief working on one file with out having an archieve. Are you using auto rebuild the foundation? BTW I tried the day Eric have made a nice solution to your question but did not post it since i thought you have finished your work. I feel that you really know what you r doing, and sure with in a short time you are going to master chief. My point is, I have seen the curved balcony centre point was your assumed centre point of the roof segments that cover the balcony. If you r still interested to see exactly your assumption I have done it manually and it looks like the attached picture,if you need the plan I will attach. Finally I advise you to try exactly point out where you need help precisely so that people may not get confused, people are ready to help here but they must easily understand your point.

Lew I agree some points here but the serviceability and functional requirement of a building is one big reason for the need of an architect in a facility design, which I think is more important than aesthetics.
