  1. In the world of home building would this be frowned upon? A valley coming down directly to a corner? Not sure how I feel about this.
  2. yes, lol, i was down a screen the other day on my 2nd PC and the library was pushed all the way to the right so I minimized the screen settings and found it. Sounds more confusing than it actually was.
  3. I just got some detailed help on this last Friday. Search "library backup".
  4. Welcome to the forum....many experienced and helpful people in here. I have learned a lot thru CA vids and forum help.....
  5. Since adding CA to the new PC my toolbars are not like I want them, I like the pull down version. How can I change that instead of the pallette? I have looked into the settings and can't figure it out.
  6. noted chop........this was a plan already started several weeks ago so maybe something just crossed.
  7. first time building a roof since downloading onto the new PC. I thought a fresh download of CA wouldn't be defaulted to degrees. Built the roof and changed a roof plane in the dbx manually. should be good now.....
  8. Hey guys, how do we change this to where it is not set on angles? I am still tweaking my settings on the new PC.
  9. I have the opposite issue.......arched casing but the doors stay square...
  10. got em now....thanks for all the help chop!
  11. that's the truth.........and my SSA is expired.
  12. Why isn't my bonus library coming in from my backup?
  13. What about toolbar settings? I am out of the box again, help lol!
  14. I can't seem to find the recent thread I saw on this topic......I still have the old computer and the library I have managed for 3 years. How can I back it up to transfer to new PC that came in today? Thanks
  15. Adobe pro for me.....used it for years and I like it. Sometimes I see a text error when I print my chief plans so I just modify the pdf in adobe instead of reprinting.
  16. how are you liking the new Alienware?
  17. Good feedback guys, I have done it in the past but it has been long time since. 36x48 is a good option until the wind starts blowing it around on the site lol.
  18. How many of you have ventured off into this scale to avoid having to rotate the floorplan and got read the riot act? Yes, I know it goes way back to keep floorplans at 1/4" but more than half the homes I do are too big to fit on 24x36. Just curious, not a big deal really but If you can pull out a scale and read 1/4"=1'-0" why not 3/16"? It's on their for some reason right haha......
  19. I agree and have thought about this but I would only print when they are 100% happy and no more changes to the home which would cut down printer usage. It would also be beneficial to have a full size print of the floorplan to markup during meetings without having to run down the road for the 3 sheet minimum. My 8.5X11 prints just won't cut it as it is now.
  20. yeah, I have searched for laser jets but no luck for this size.
  21. Right now I just charge for what it costs me at the plot shop which is roughly $2 a sheet. Most people want atleast two prints and I average about 18 sheets for a set of plans. I do multiple homes per month so $900 won't hurt me nowadays. Tax write off as well. They have this printer in a local office depot. They charge $3 a sheet and it prints damn good. awesome clarity.
  22. haha right......makes me feel inferior seeing a stepped fdn like that. Glad I live where it is mostly flat.
