  1. I thought that same thing but the client wants one piece of glass. I guess that ain't happening and in reality would be a huge piece of glass.
  2. Guys, is there a way to make these into one window? Definetely a special order if so.
  3. Good stuff man, this is why I like engineer's stamping my work. I still try to avoid sending them silly things that can 't work though and feedback on here from guys who have built homes is helpful
  4. Just wondering if they can build up with 2x's for something to nail too and trim out (hollow beams). LOL at styro foam. The ridge can be done, I already did a home like this with a bigger span and the engineers worked their magic without adding collar ties (if I understand your concern correctly)
  5. How many framers or engineers do we have in here guys? I am very curious as to how the decorative beams (below) are actually attached to the home when they are NOT protruding into the home over the top plate. Is the front door exterior wall framed to catch the end of the beam somehow and then front part of the beam nailed to the rafters or something? Need to hear from the pros on this. I can design anything the client wants but sometimes analyze these type of things and wonder just how the heck it is done. I have seen it done before on finished homes so I know it is possible. exterior view interior view
  6. This is a new one for me guys. How do I get the soffit to drop down flush with my i-joist rafter tails? See below screenshots................thanks as always!
  7. Sounds like a plan, I just checked and my "bumping/pushing" icon is checked.
  8. Guys, I think I turned off a setting or something. The automatic fillers keep going away after I reopen the file each day. I have to move the cabinet to recognize the filler to come back. Thoughts? before after I move them out of place and back in position

Is there a way to get ride of this when doing renderings physically based? Sun shouldn't be shining thru joints in the home.
  11. Dude, this was awesome. It worked and thanks! I will be honest, I have used CA since 2018 and never used the shelf ceiling option.
  12. Hey guys, I have a garage with a vaulted ceiling. In that same space I have a safe room and half bath. I have those spaces with 9' ceilings. As you can see below there is no need to run the walls all the way up to the vaulted garage ceiling. I want flat separate ceilings in them. I assume if you guys have an answer to this it will also add back the drywall where I have the question mark. When I delete the upper walls they turn into invisible walls and won't go away completely. This has happened in the past but I just let it fly cause you couldn't tell on the plans but it would be nice to figure out what I am doing wrong.
  13. I am down here in Daphne staying busy since 2018 god willing.
  14. Good solution as well.
  15. I was gonna do a polyline solid but like your idea of the pass thru too. Would the soffit tool be something good for this too?
  16. Guys, what is the easiest way to add a wall above this entertainment center in a vaulted area and close off that space? I am not familiar with a tool to do this that I bet exists in CA.
  17. Wisdom right there. The ONLY way I do it.
  18. Thanks Ben, I was just about to call you guys before the weekend hit but then saw this.
  19. Hey guys, where do we pay for our SSA renewel. Mine expires in two days and I do not see a payment option in the digital locker, just an option to upgrade to X16. Thanks
  20. rustic wood catalog changes the texture, "adjust material def" works but needs a little work to blend it together.
  21. Thanks Jim, I will check it out and post a pic!
  22. Do we have anything in the library to reflect this look or similar. Applying stain as a color on the board and batten in CA still doesn't give it a look like below.
  23. I keep what I can that CA generates and manually change/rotate where I feel the need.
