If you were willing to pay a render farm, how much would you be willing to pay someone who also uses Chief to render for you? Or, what kind of budget would you have for training?
Who knows, that may cost less than you might have thought. I might train / mentor or render for you as would others. It would all start with a one-on-one conversation.
You need to be comfortable with the person helping you and that person would need to examine one of your Chief files so that through a discussion, together you can identify the areas for improvement that would benefit you the most.
I like that you're in Canada. I'm in Newfoundland so the cost would NOT be US dollars, training and/or discussion sounds good especially identifying areas where I improvement.

Respectfully, I would disagree. There are many CA users producing very realistic exterior renderings. The level of quality is largely dependent on 3 main factors:
- your skill / knowledge
- your hardware
- and most importantly your clients budget.

No doubt some of my images are better than others (of my own)...almost entirely driven by factor #3 from the list above. And FWIW, I almost never use any other software!
If you're having issues, I would hone in on the above list and ask myself which one of those factors is the simplest to improve.
To improve #1, you'll need time. Maybe some training
To improve #2, you'll need money.
To improve #3, you'll need to improve #1 & #2
Thank you for your candid rely. Well received. Your rendering looks so much more realistic especially the windows , I have been playing around with windows glass trying to get the look you have.. I will take your advise and run with it.

It seems like every render i see on CA Facebook community has used and external AI program to add realism. Is this the norm now? In addition to CA upgrades I have to purchase other software? CA has great interior rendering options but are lacking in exterior realism . I do a lot of exterior for clients , They send me their house plans . I create the 3D model adding various cladding options giving the client opportunities to see the finished house before buying the products , great way to decide which siding or stone looks and suites the house style.
If CA cant provide exterior realism like their interiors. what software can I purchase without costing me and arm and a leg. Lumion is out of the question based on cost. Even Twinmotin is over 1000.00...
I have heard of cloud rendering services that are pay as you go but the one I was hoping to use FOXRENDERFARM is not compatible with Chief
Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated

Is anyone familiar with this rendering cloud service- FOX Renderfarm
I intend to try it out for a particular project I'm working on - see the results but they asked me this question
Can you tell us the version of the software and plug-in you are using, we will help you check if the platform supports it now. The software I know but what is PLUG-IN?
Thanks

Attached is the back exterior view (m walk out Basement) however the garage to left has no basement , does this terrain and slope make any sense.
I need to also install steps in sloped back too one I figure out how to do it
But right now I'm wondering of this looks ok

ok I only want window lites in the 8 top portion . it appears as two doors with windows when I use the door from the manufacturers. guessing it only registers to standard garge door heights.
How to make my own door symbol .. I will check out the help videos
Thank you I appreciate you replying to me

I've attached a front image of the workshop
Here is the problem. There are two garages doors with different heights and widths .
When I try to install a garage door with windows in the larger door I get two sets of windows. How do I get just the windows across the top with out showing up in the middle If I use right side windows from top to bottom they are fine
The garage door is 144 " wide x 192" in height.
This is in residential template but same thing occurs if I use a commercial template
Any suggestions thanks

Hi
In the attached image you will see that i created two different roof pitches as per customers sample idea he sent. however it seems to have changed the wall heights as you can see by the interior shot as well as exterior. Wondering how I adjust this ..I followed the video to create the roof pitches but ,, it is probably a very simple ?
Thanking you in advance

Without sounding like a total DON'T KNOW ANYHTING rather than say ( id--- ) this may seem like a very silly question but designing estimated 1000 sq ft home do i charge a separate fee for the detailed construction drawings. I have an idea on time for the floor plans but I have no idea how long it takes to produce detailed construction drawings
thanks in advance

Hi
I have been approached by a prospective client to design a house roughly 30 x 30 slab on grade with a gable roof - open concept - vaulted ceiling - 2 bedrooms - 1 bath - kitchen/living . ,,, I can do this but asking the forum about fee structure or if there is one, Not sure If I should charge by the hour or sq ft. There will be changes for sure once we meet to review the initial design. plus they want construction drawings for the contractor also a schedule for materials, etc.
In one particular floor plan I developed, the fee structure was based on sq ft but I ended up doing a lot of changes that I hadn't really allowed for. In others I charged by the hour, but this will be my first with construction drawings and more than an electrical schedule
My plan is to send a SCOPE OF WORK with the fee structure. Just want to ensure I don't overbid or undersell myself. I'm thinking there may be several fee options involved in this as we move along
Then again I may be overthinking all this
Thanks for any input
Cheers

Not too bad
If you set the Sun to follow Camera , it will always shine on what you are looking at, while the Shadows may not be correct for your Location or the time of day, I personally think that is less important than the Client getting some well lit Views.
* I always Note it is a 3D Artist's Visualization and may not reflect the real world (especially the Colors as Monitors don't convey them well ).

thanks--- well noted!

ok sorry about that..... I've taken the information you gave me on the exterior technique options etc and this is what I came up with. I think with a little practice it will come together..
Thanks again....

CA is fairly capable of Exterior PBR these Days but it is definitely not a 1 Click and done thing , you will need to play with the Sun strength ( way too high by Default - try 5000-10,000 but may need lower eg 500-2000 so the backdrop isn't washed out ) and Sun Angle or use "sun follows Camera" and also daylight intensity Try 700-1000) and Brightness too sometimes. Also make sure to Cap your Live Samples , I use 200, and also check the Box for the Denoiser if you haven't already. Also try Refraction on or Off to see if it helps with Reflections.
here are a couple of mine without any Landscaping ( I don't get paid for that )

thank you I will keep at it.. your patience and assistance is appreciated..
