  2. yes I know thanks I was so frustrated that I didn't read properly,, thnks
  3. yes - but i have the site done completed . and all is good ,, I'm just trying to get these three house at different heights and not floating like this sample
  4. Hi I have three houses that are on a two sided sloped terrain , Not only are they on a sloped terrain they also need to show at three different heights like steps But when I slope the terrain the first house sits right but the next house just floats how do i adjust their heights so they look like steps. Terrains are my nemesis in this project and without DWG contour elevation heights its just a guessing game. The client wants these three houses to sit higher and at the correct angles Ive attached an image marking the houses. I've viewed terrain videos and tried adding valleys hills - terrain regions.. any direction is welcomed Cheers Levina
  5. I keep referring to your video and its helped tremendously. you can read as much as you can but visuals are the most instructive way to learn . I was also able to import the contours DWG over the terrain DWG... its all a learning curve and you've been so helpful.. Again thank you
  6. Hi I've received the Contours DWG, and it fits with the existing DWG terrain perimeter file ( which did not have contours in it). I'm looking for guidance again on how to approach the various terrain features like slopes and valleys, considering there are many polylines. I've attached both files .. Cheers Levina ACAD-25221-PR1-RevC (3).dwg contours.dwg
  7. thank you all for your response appreciated!
  8. How do i edit my original query or to add attachments etc or should I just start another topic if some tine has gone by?
  9. As a follow-up, I’ll be receiving the topo survey CAD from the surveyor for this site plan you’ve all been helping me with. I’ll likely be reaching out again for guidance. This is a large project for me and my first time working with DWGs and topo files, so I truly appreciate all of your assistance.
  10. I understand drawing houses in 3 separate plan files but where can I find info on how to reference them
  11. thank you all for your feedback Greatly appreicated!!
  12. Hi I built three houses next to each other , they will be on a sloped terrain but when I created the sloped terrain the houses do not follow the slope. they look like they are floating How do I make adjustments Cheers
  13. THANKS FOR YOUR HELP REALLY APPRECIATED
  14. also how do i get the smaller purple area to configure as terrain perimeter.. it is faded when I try to convert the polyline to terrain perimiter. does that mean there can only be one terrain periminter on one plan
  15. ok that's where I went wrong thank you
  16. I thought I had it sorted, but it didn’t come in at the correct scale. I’ll give it another try — just to confirm, I’m outlining this in feet rather than metric. The video you uploaded was very helpful. Thanks again.
  17. Thanks Robert I needed that visual.. I have it done !!
  18. thanks I don't work in metric is it difficult to change it to imperial if it's not imported that way
  19. Ultimately, what I’m looking for is the perimeter defined by the two purple lines, so I can build the houses on the site as shown in the plans and develop the overall site vision, with the correct scale and orientation.
  20. I really appreciate you taking the time to help me with importing the DWG to obtain dimensions, and I’m sorry to ask again. I’m still not fully understanding the process. I’ve attached the steps I’m following based on your response, but I’m not sure which boxes should be selected.
  21. that great info thanks ill try that now
  22. I already have the house plans, so my understanding was that with the terrain perimeter I’d be able to build the houses and lay out the cul-de-sac, driveways, and related site elements. I’ve been reading and watching tutorials on DWG files, but I feel like I’m missing something. When I import the file, I don’t see any blocks—only linework—and I’m not sure if that’s expected or if I’m missing a step. It may simply be part of the learning curve. I’d appreciate any feedback or direction, as I want to make sure the client gets what they’re looking for. Thanks in advance. ACAD-25221-PR1-RevC (3).dwg new site plan.pdf
