I have several cross section elevations, back clips, etc. and they do show up in the project browser list under "Cross Sections". How do you save actual camera view shots to the list that would show up in "Cameras". If im getting ready for a presentation, I would normally shoot the camera, either capture the screen view or export the view to the clients file where i would then open each one as a jpg during a design review. I wasn't sure if all these camera views could be saved within CA / plan file and I would assume they would appear in the project browsers camera list. Thanks Rob

Thanks. I'll see if I can figure it out.

Does anyone know how to draw vertical ducts? Horizontal is not an issue using a molding line in plan view. I'm needing a spiral duct to run across the ceiling to a far wall then turn downward towards the floor. Kinda hard to draw a vertical molding line in plan view. Thanks

Thanks. Id there a way to show just the framing in a particular room? Say I want to show framing in a kitchen but I don't want to see all the framing through the entire house

Can some tell me how to show room framing (walls, ceiling, half walls, etc. in a 3d camera view while inside a room versus the perspective framing overview that shows the birds eye view. Thanks Rob

I right click with the mouse to copy and paste. It usually happens when I am copying text

Humble I guess it's just me having that "everything must be perfect" thought process. Some call it OCD. Being a former Maring and still a pediatric / neonatal flight nurse on top of having a remodeling company I've always been expected to be as detailed as possible. Sometimes it sick but usually a good thing. Thanks for your input.

I am running new duct work for a vent hood thru a shared wall between the kitchen and garage. Once in the garage it will turn and travel to an exterior wall for venting. All this will be enclosed in a simple soffit. How do I show the framing of the soffit so I can show the duct work inside the framing before drywall? I know I can build it using slabs but that will take some time. I thought if a soffit was in placed in a plan I would see the framing in framing view but it does not. Thanks Rob

They do allow it to be a temporary rental but the money you pay will not go towards the rent to own unless you continue with all the payments. I just didn't want to have to shell out $2K for an additional license at once.

I have restarted, cleared the clipboard and still have the same issue, However, when I get that error box, I can go outside of CA such as Word or Excel and use copy and paste without an issue. Maybe I can figure it out. Thanks again.

I agree totally, I have created additional layers such as "Fixtures, Plumbing", "Fixtures, Electrical", Fixtures, Appliances, "Fixtures, Bath Accessories" so I don't have to show ALL the "Fixtures, Interior" in my plumbing or electrical plan. I would be great that a toilet, sink or faucet could have their default layer changed to "Fixtures, Plumbing" or an oven to "Fixtures, Appliances" layer and so on. HUGE TIME SAVER!!!!

I was wondering if anyone has added and additional license and if CA allowed you to use their rent to own option. I see the rental option on their website but the only selection was for a full version but no where does it state they don't have the rental option for additional licenses. I have a new designer starting that may be temporary and being able to rent would work great at this point. I do have an email into CA sales & support asking this question but as usual, I would probably get a quicker answer here. Thanks

I wanted to know if anyone else is having the same issue. While working in both plans (plan view and elevations) and layouts I just started having an issue with copy paste. Its the same issue whether its a text box, pic or symbol. I get a dialog box starting "Paste failed: No recognizable data on clipboard" see the attached screen print. I have used CA since 8.0 and this is the first time I have seen this issue.

Thanks to all. Maybe it could be something CA could think about. I know it would be a big time saver on my part to not have to go in and temporarily change the layers for these symbols so I can show them on their own layer since they can be just as detailed as the electrical set.
-
Mark, They are in my user library. While in the library, when you open the symbol spec box there is not an option to change the layer. Only once the symbol is actually in the plan is when you can open it and change the layer but it does not change the default layer

By doing what Joe said work well and you can do the same for a front control range top

Vinnie, I have gone through this a few times over the years and until now, CA always seemed to get the best of my PC configurations. This time, I did more research and did spend a little more but my PC now is a beast and I am running both CA and 20-20 on it at the same time. Raytraces that used to take hours to get high end renderings now take minutes. See my specs below. Hope this helps Rob
